Debbie Heimowitz (Co-creator/Director/Producer/Writer)

Debbie Heimowitz holds a Master’s Degree in “Learning, Design & Technology” from Stanford University, a BA in Film from UC Berkeley and a CA State teaching credential. She was the first development executive at Amazon Studios and second hire to launch the kids originals team. While at Amazon, Debbie brought in Gortimer Gibbons Life on Normal Street and also contributed to Tumbleaf and Creative Galaxy which can be watched on Amazon Instant Video. After Amazon, Debbie was the manager of kids content merchandising at Netflix before leaving and starting Caticorn Entertainment. Debbie spent four years leading educational filmmaking workshops in inner-city classrooms as part of the Artsbridge America Program before moving to Los Angeles to work in the film & television industry. After working with companies such as Disney Channel, NBC Universal, and for the film Saving Shiloh, she returned to the Bay Area to pursue her passion for children’s educational media and created Adina’s Deck. Debbie and Jason have been invited to speak nationally about the the topics in Adina’s Deck and their experience creating the films. Debbie also worked as the Line Producer on the Feature Film Raspberry Magic and does consulting work for education & children’s media companies.

Jason Azicri (Co-creator/Director/Writer/Producer)

Jason Azicri holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. Jason was a teacher in Miami, specializing in Special Needs Health and Physical Education, before relocating to CA to pursue a screenwriting career. Jason’s script, Lost Weekend has been a finalist in over seven screening contests. He also wrote and directed the Independent film The Sofa, prior to collaborating on Adina’s Deck. Debbie and Jason created Adina’s Deck because they believe young people need more empowering messages and positive portrayals of young teens in film and television. Jason travels nationally speaking and leading assemblies along with Debbie and other Adina’s Deck cast members.

Lindsey Hanson (Associate Producer)

Lindsey Hanson has a B.A. in film from UC Berkeley. Three of her shorts (Olafsson Berserker, In the Land of Hope & Promise, and Lollipop Moon) were selected for nationwide film festivals. She was attracted to Adina’s Deck because of the important lessons it provided for kids, in addition to an entertaining plot. She currently resides in San Francisco, and continues to work in film.

Megan Hsu (Casting Director and Set Teacher)

Megan Hsu got involved in the project because she loves working with kids. She is a graduate of the Stanford Teacher Education Program (STEP), and holds an MA in Education with an emphasis on teaching secondary mathematics. She really appreciates the opportunity to work on such a great project and has wonderful memories from spending time with the kids during filming.

Jessica Young (Cinematographer)

When Jessica isn’t shooting the latest episode of “Adina’s Deck”, she can found chasing rock stars and motorcycles. Check out her work at

Gordon McIver (Gaffer)

Gordon McIver arrived on the San Francisco film scene in August of 1994 and hit the ground running. In 1997, after two and a half years of production and grip/electric training he jumped into the roll of Gaffer with the purchase of a two-ton grip truck and the formation of Rebel Sun Lighting and Grip. Since then he has beautifully illuminated over 10 feature films, extensive short narratives, music videos and still shoots, as well as hundreds of corporate videos. Gordon McIver resides in Palo Alto with his wife and three children.

John LaRosa (Sound Mixer and Editor)

As a freelance Location Sound Mixer and Sound Editor/Designer John has an eclectic mix of experience recording and editing sound that includes documentaries, short and feature length movies, and network and cable television shows. He has studied Film and Television Production at San Jose State and the University of Southern California. For more information about his work you can check out his website.

Bruce Drummond (Web and Graphic Designer)

Bruce is a new media designer, programmer, musician with 9 years’ experience in a variety of design fields ranging from print to interactive. He’s doing his MFA in Design and Technology at Parsons The New School for Design, New York. For more information about his work check out his website.
