Amelia Varni “Adina”

Amelia is a student at Belmont University in Nashville. She has been performing in musical and dramatic theater since the age of six. Some of her favorite roles include Annie, in Annie at Sierra Repertory Theater; Anne Frank, in The Diary of Anne Frank; and Jojo the Who, in Seussical the Musical, both at Playhouse Merced. Her favorite voiceover work includes radio commercials for Cheerwine Soft Drink, Plato’s Closet, and NOAH’S Spring Water. She recently completed a modeling shoot for Loyal Army Apparel. Her role as Adina, in Adina’s Deck, has become her favorite role of all, because of the depth of the character and the real issues she faces. "Adina"

Ciera Trussell “Clara”

Ciera attends Smith Flat Charter School, run by the El Dorado County Office of Education. Ciera’s favorite thing about school is her English teacher, Mrs. Phelan, because she’s always inspiring Ciera to follow her dreams. Ciera loves to listen to music and go to the movies and hangout with all her amazing friends. She lives in Placerville, CA but when she turns 18, she is moving to L.A. Ciera loves gum!

Samuel Ison “Michael”

Samuel is a student at Castro Valley High School. He loves to cook, play baseball, travel with his family, watch movies, and play video games. He also enjoys acting. This is Sam’s first film role, but he has been in several school, theme park and local theater productions. Although Adina’s Deck is his first film, Sam considers it an awesome and memorable experience. Sam has always loved movies and this experience has given him a first hand look at all that it takes to create a film. This experience has inspired Sam to work toward a future career as an actor, film director, or screenwriter. "Michael"

Kelcie Stranahan “Skye”

Kelcie currently attends high school in Moraga, Calfornia. She enjoys acting and plans to have a career in film and maybe someday directing as well. She likes cooking, playing sports, dancing, watching movies and reading (especially scripts). In addition to her reccurring role in the Adina’s Deck series, Kelcie has been featured on “Without a Trace” on CBS. In addition, Kelcie models for the Pottery Barn Teen catalogs. You can see her in the winter, 2008 edition.

Stephanie Cameron “Melody”

Stephanie loves to sing and dance and has been involved in musical theater since she was 5. She has performed in 17 main stage productions, several times as the lead. For the past two years, Stephanie has been taking acting classes in television and film. Including instruction from Dee Wallace Stone (the mom in E.T.), Anthony Chase (Stella Adler Theater in Los Angeles) and Matthew Kilbern from Gamma Films. She was a background player with her brother, sister, and dad in “Her Best Move”, a girls soccer movie starring Leah Pipes, Lalaine and Daryl Sabara. Stephanie recently auditioned for American Idol in San Francisco and Salt Lake City, but sadly did not get through the first round. However, it was a great Father/Daughter life memory and who knows what the future may hold.

Cassie Jo Fastabend “Eve”

Ever since the 2nd grade, when she did her very first play “The Elf and the Shoemaker”, Cassie knew she wanted to be an Actor. Cassie is now a Junior at Douglass High School in Nevada, and she still has a burning passion for Acting in any form. She enjoys learning and loves school; English and French are her favorite subjects. She can’t wait for Video Production because “It will give her a better look on things behind the camera”. As for extra curricular activities, she enjoys singing, dancing, playing the piano, and hanging out with friends. Adina’s Deck was her first time being on screen, and was definitely a transition from her only other acting experience on stage. Though most people believe she does acting as merely a hobby, she hopes to carry it on and make a career out of the thing she loves more than anything else in the world. "Eve"

Nyssa Smikoski “Ally”

Nyssa loves Drama club, and has been involved in many school plays. She is also enrolled at Paris Beauty College, working toward her esthetician license. Nyssa is known to many as an obsessive Harry Potter fan. To get to know her a bit better you can check out her YouTube channel


Kyle Fitz “David”

Kyle is entering his junior year at Mountain View High School. His favorite subject in school is drama. Outside of school he plays on a club rugby team and spends free time at home playing guitar. Kyle’s acting career started when he was living overseas in Hong Kong. He went on tour with the production of Peter Pan in the role of John Darling. He had a fantastic time filming Adina’s Deck . Kyle’s hopes are to make a career as an actor. "David"

David Valladeres “Christian”

David is entering 11th grade and attends Castro Valley High in Castro Valley, CA. His favorite subject in school is History. He enjoys playing football and wrestling which he has been doing for six years now. An interesting fact about David is that he placed 5th at the Jr. High State Championship for wrestling as a 7th grader. David got introduced to acting through a voluntary video journalism elective in 8th grade then was invited to do a PSA Commercial on Internet safety. This led to his audition and casting in Adina’s Deck.

Jamin Shih “Scott”

Jamin is entering 12th grade at Cupertino High School and currently lives in the San Jose area. He enjoys creative writing (mostly in the form of short stories or scripts) and eating, which is usually all he does in the summer. He can be painfully quiet when first met, but it’s impossible to shut him up after you get to know him.

KJ Forbes “Assistant Principal Klein”

KJ is an 8th grade history and video production teacher and father of two terrific daughters. He enjoys reading, exercising, and relaxing at his wonderful cabin in the mountains. When he’s not hanging out with his wife Janis, you can find him surfing along the northern California coast.

Avery Monsen “Tommy”

Avery Monsen holds a BA in Theatre from Oberlin College. He has acted with California Shakespeare Theater, Marin Theater Company, PlayGround, Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding and Cutting Ball Theater, where he is an Artistic Associate. He’s also a writer; he just published “Pirate’s Log” a creative writing and activity book for 8- to 12-year-olds. He’s not nearly as creepy as he seemed in Adina’s Deck.
